Active assisted exercises

These exercises are usually performed after a period of immobilisation. The aim is to regain movement in the shoulder while protecting certain muscle groups.

The images show the different ways to promote movement of the shoulder. Exercise 1. Use the good arm to assist the injured arm into elevation.

Exercise 2. Use a stick to rotate the arm out while keeping the elbow tucked in.

Exercise 3 use a towel to help slide up the wall
